Martha Helped Me Create Bridal Bouquet Art

I didn't think about what I was going to do with my bridal bouquet until a few days after the wedding. I knew I didn't want to hang and dry it, and I didn't want it preserved. I thought, "a picture is good enough." Until my awesome photographer/friend sent me a link on Pinterest to Martha Stewart Weddings. Good ol' Martha, had taken apart a bouquet, dried the flowers and put them in picture frames. (See photo below.) I loved the idea to create art out of my bouquet! Here is the process that I did and how I arranged my bouquet into an artsy display for my wall!

Martha Stewart Weddings

 First, I started out by picking the best looking/freshest flowers from my bouquet. I clipped them and placed them between two pieces of paper towel. I placed them on a table underneath several of my husband's calculus textbooks and our heavy board games. I let them flatten and dry for two weeks.

Next, I found three matching photo frames at the Goodwill, ($3 each! Score!). I picked a color of construction paper that still complimented my wedding colors and bouquet, (blue), and cut it to fit into the photo frame.

Then I arranged the blooms and petals to what I feel looked the best together.

After I liked how I placed everything, I attached the petals and blooms to the construction paper with glue.

Then, I took the piece of glass from the frame and placed it over the "art" and flipped it over back into the frame.

Finally, I found some wall space in our bedroom and hung them up as a trip-tic piece! I think I love it!

This was quick, (well after the two weeks of drying and pressing the flowers), and very easy. I think anyone can complete this project and showcase their bouquet in a new modern way! Thanks Martha!
